Presenting at the 2024 Excess Soils Symposium

As chair of the Qualified Persons Community of Ontario (QPCO) Excess Soil committee, Shannon will be part of a panel representing QPCO as they present their best practices guideline for reuse sites.  The best practices guideline is intended to provide guidance to owners and operators of reuse sites per O. Reg. 406/19, as well as Qualified Persons providing environmental consulting support to reuse sites.

Peter has been invited to present the very first “annual rant” in place of the more traditional closing keynote address.  A passionate advocate for raising the level of environmental practice, Peter is well known for expressing his opinions regarding the state of practice in the management of excess soils.  His address will touch on Ontario’s Excess Soil Quality Standards, and the challenges these standards impose on maximizing the reuse of excess soils in Ontario.
